— BACKGROUND —
Tetro helped to choose the “Images Sonores” selections for the Nuits Sonores and European Lab festivals, including Auréole Boréale, a monumental work by Vincent Leroy, which was presented from 27 May to 1st June at the Hôtel de Région in Lyon.
— ART INSTALLATION —
With Auréole Boréale, Vincent Leroy invites us to explore his imaginary world. This giant ring, 10 metres wide, seems to float gently and voluptuously at the centre of the Hôtel de Région, undulating to the insistent rhythm of an Aurora Borealis. Leroy immerses us in his visual and physical experiences. The installation conveys a desire to slow time in order to break down movement and draw us into a magical realm. Using what seems to be a straightforward process, Leroy’s pieces are intentionally light and fluid with a gentle, ethereal, regular movement that artfully conceals his impressive technical mastery.
