OPENING & CLOSING CEREMONIES OF THE IUCN WORLD CONSERVATION CONGRESS
Marseille | September 3rd & 10th 2021
TETRO conceived, staged and produced the opening and closing ceremonies of the IUCN World conservation congress in response to the call from the French Presidency, the Ministry of Ecological Transition, IUCN and the City of Marseille. It was a real challenge to design and produce no less than 4 artistic shows, the scenography, the identity and the editorial line of the two events in only a few weeks. A look back at an international event bringing together the world's major political and non-governmental powers to discuss the future of our planet.
- CREATIVE WORK PRESENTED -
The International Union for Conservation of Nature works daily and internationally to preserve the world's biodiversity. TETRO staged the ceremonies of the IUCN World conservcation congress by magnifying Nature in an innovative and artistic way.
To open the two ceremonies, TETRO imagined with the help of our local partners Seconde Nature and Lieux Publics 4 artistic tableaux to stage through the eyes of dance, music and images the richness of nature and the dangers that threaten it.
The conception of a scenography imagined to increase the size and the power of the images: 2 panoramic tulles create visual resonances with the central screen. A device that allowed the thousands of spectators in the theater or behind their screens to be immersed.
The creation of the visual identity of the Ceremonies, imagined as a visual wink to bring together the mesh of the architecture of the famous museum MUCEM of Marseille, the pattern of the IUCN logo and the lace of the marine corals.
The editorial support of the speakers' speeches and the content of the transitions with the talented journalist and activist Asha Sumputh who played the role of master of ceremonies with brio.
The conception and production of artistic shows in homage to Nature with :
POWER OF NATURE
POWER OF NATURE plunges us into a panorama of landscapes of our planet, of a striking beauty and diversity, accompanied by the composer Benjamin Dupé with a live guitar solo augmented by natural sound effects.
NATURE IN DANGER
NATURE IN DANGER illustrates the importance of water and the imminent dangers of climate change with the company ARTONIK dancing in front of a backdrop of devastated desert landscapes, an echo of ancestral rain dances to implore the sky and rain.
HOPE
HOPE celebrates the rediscovered harmony of man and nature through a contemporary ballet representing the lively strength and mix́ of youth embodied by the hip hop dancers of the Break 2 Mars crew with a backdrop of emblematic landscapes of Marseille shot for the occasion.
TETRO is very proud to have orchestrated these ceremonies in the service of a major event that responds to the environmental challenges of our decade. Our small stone to the building for a more virtuous world!
